Grazie al tempo Italiano

Today:
Sunny today. It’s currently 79°,
the high will be 91°.

My initial packing thoughts:

  • light weight

  • no fraternity philanthropy t-shirts that typically make up my wardrobe

  • anything that will be revealing enough to get tan, a sweatshirt and warm pajama pants for when it gets cold at night.

My overlooked, practical packing thoughts:

  • anything you don’t care about getting destroyed in the dreadful 3-hour long laundry washing cycle

  • something that covers your cleavage as not to “distract” the men on motorbikes and give them whiplash or even crash from a double-take

  • spandex to wear under a dress to prevent the inevitable thigh chaffing

  • a light-weight nightgown or oversized t-shirt and boy cut underwear to survive the blazing, sans air conditioning evenings without flashing my roommate my freshly tatted butt

Thank you, spicy Viterbo weather.  Thank you for your sweaty, sticky 49% humidity rate and daily UV index varying anywhere from 2-9.  Thank you for your 2mph “cooling” breeze as I pant and gasp the entire walk to school every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Without these testing temperatures, I would have gone home and complained about the 75° high every day and the UV index of 0.  Without this feeble Italian breeze, I would not be appreciative of the 10+ mph winds that even slightly postpone my unfortunate, yet, unavoidable pit stains.
